How Does Your Garden Grow?

I realized that it’s been a while since I looked at my 30 Before 30 list. At the top of the list is “Plant a garden.” I had grand plans to plant a garden in the yard of our future home, but purchasing a house may be a little further off than I anticipated. And who says a garden must be in a yard?!

The balcony at our new condo faces east absorbing all the beautiful morning sun. I decided to try a balcony garden since I’ve heard that eastern sunlight is preferable for some plants. Hopefully, the plants we planted like morning sunshine!

Ian and I planted a packet of wildflower seeds I got on a New Belgium Brewery tour a few months ago. The seeds have already sprouted, and I’m excited to see what they become!

We also planted a little bucket of herbs: basil, Italian parsley, and cilantro. They seem to be growing along just fine.

Lastly, I planted a huge mint plant in a pot I scored for $5 at the grocery store (one little chip = great savings!).  I’m really looking forward to making Mojitos with my new mint! 🙂

My wonderful mother-in-law gave us a few plants as a housewarming gift. While I didn’t personally plant them, I am still keeping them alive! (That counts as gardening, right ;)).

Marigolds on the way…

These yellow flowers just started blooming!

And a beautiful hanging plant.

I’ll post updates in another month or so once the balcony garden is in full bloom.
