Puppy, puppy, puppy time!

I can’t believe we’ve only had Deke for one week! So much has happened in the past week that I feel like he’s been part of our family for much longer. This must be how parents feel. 🙂

A few days after adopting Deke, he got a little sick. I’ll spare the gory details, but know that this picture is not a picnic on the floor or preparations for a fancy dinner party:

No, this is Stainmaster’s solution for getting animal “messes” out of the carpet. A little dish soap mixed with warm water, a towel, and ample time to dry under a paper towel and white or glass ceramic tile (or dinner plate!). Luckily, all stains came out and the little man is feeling much, much better thanks to an amazing vet, some antibiotics, and a steady diet of chicken and rice.

Since Deke was feeling better, we decided to take him to the dog park for the first time ever. It’s no secret that Ava LOVES the dog park, so we were really hoping Deke would love it just as much. I’d say he had a grand ol’ time!

Ava was an excellent sister and showed Deke the ins and outs of the dog park.

We couldn’t be happier with Deke! Ava loves him and they play so well together. He’s getting so close to being fully house trained and we’re really beginning to see his adorable little personality. He’s super food motivated (perhaps a little too food motivated) and he seems to learn quickly. I’m excited to watch our little man grow!

  1. I love the picture of Deke on the picnic table! So glad he’s feeling better. What a nice companion of Ava! I can’t wait to meet him!
